If you do a little digging, you’ll notice that almost every paint company chose a shade of green as their 2022 Color of the Year- and through a color psychology lens, it’s evident as to why:
Color psychology is the scientific study of hues and their effect on human behavior. Color plays an essential role in creating certain moods and feelings and can influence everything from what shampoo bottle you pick up at the drugstore to whether you’ll feel tired or ready to start your day as you sip your morning cup of coffee in your kitchen.
I think we can all agree that seeking peace and calm in our ever-changing world has, quite literally, colored how we move throughout our days, and our homes are reflecting that. Green, especially a soft green, invokes feelings of tranquility, reminding us of the natural world- of Spring and its promises of renewal. Spring, and all its blossoming greenness, has an optimistic quality, as well; we all know that every year, the cold and stark winter will always eventually make way for the fresh blossoming rebirth that Spring promises us.
